ABRACADABRA PULLED PORK | |
If you follow this recipe you will wonder why you didn't think of it. It is truly a no brainer! 1 pork butt (your choice on weight) 1/2 cup olive oil 1 cup red wine (I use cheap burgundy) water SPECIAL KING RUB: 2 tbsp. onion powder 2 tbsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. salt (kosher preferred) 2 tbsp. black pepper 1 tsp. cumin In a bowl mix your dry ingredients (this will be what you rub on the pork butt) - onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and cumin. Place the butt in either a large mixing bowl or place it on parchment paper on your prep table. Take the rub mixture and knead it into the butt, all over. In a large pot heat 1/2 cup of olive oil on medium high to high. Take the rubbed butt and sear each side. Once seared add 1 cup of red wine and turn the butt over. Add enough water to cover 3/4 of the butt and bring to a boil. Let boil for at least 3 minutes. Put the lid on the pot and bring the heat down to low to very low. Walk away for 4 hours. When you open up the pot the butt will be in butt heaven. Be careful, the meat will fall apart so prepare before hand on how you will handle the product. Once you get the meat out of the pot you can do absolutely anything you can imagine, especially adding some of your favorite barbecue sauce. Enjoy! Submitted by: KING JAMES |
