HONEY WHOLE WHEAT LOAVES 
2 pkgs. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/3 c. honey
1/4 c. shortening
1 tbsp. salt
1 3/4 c. warm water
3 c. whole wheat flour
3-4 c. flour
butter, softened

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Stir in honey, shortening, salt, 1 3/4 cups warm water and whole wheat flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Cover, let rise until double, about 1 hour. Punch down; divide; shape into 2 loaves. Put in bread pans. Brush with butter. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
