RAISIN & NUT COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 box raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. Angel Flake Coconut
1 tsp. baking soda, sifted with 3 c. flour
1/2 c. raisin water
Pinch of salt

Cook raisins night before for 10 minutes in 1 cup water. Reserve 1/2 cup raisin water for the cookie dough. Flour the raisins before adding to the dough.

Cream Crisco and sugar well until creamy. Add eggs and the raisin water. Add the flour and vanilla; mix well. Fold in floured raisins, nuts and coconut. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
