DAWNE'S BREAKFAST CASSEROLE 
12 slices white bread (with ends cut off)
2 c. grated cheese
1 lb. sausage
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 sm. can mushrooms
5 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Salt, pepper to taste

Butter bread and slice 3 times. Lay in 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Layer cheese over bread. Saute onions and mushrooms in 1/4 cup butter, push aside and brown sausage. Layer mixture over cheese. Beat eggs with seasonings and milk. Pour over sausage mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Better if left in refrigerator overnight before baking.
