SCALLOPED TOMATOES 
1 (28 oz.) can ready cut tomatoes
1 sm. onion, chopped
1/4 c. butter
1 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Saute the onion in butter. Add the bread crumbs and brown sugar. Cook the mixture slowly until well mixed. Add the tomatoes and seasonings. Place the mixture in a shallow buttered baking dish. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 6 to 8.
