SPICED RED CABBAGE | |
3 tbsp. shortening 1 med. red cabbage 2 tbsp. molasses 2 c. apple slices 1 tbsp. red currant jelly 1 c. minced onion 1/3 c. white vinegar 1 c. water 1 tsp. salt Shred cabbage. Melt shortening in heavy skillet. Add cabbage and molasses and cook until cabbage starts to soften. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 1-1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. |
