YELLOW CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Add sugar slowly to shortening in a large bowl, beating well. Beat in 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth. Add other egg and beat well. Add half the flour mixture and half the milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add remaining mixtures mixing well.

Fill a greased baking pan or two layer pans 1/2 full. Be sure to flour pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-35 minutes. This is good. Not a gooey sweet.
