KOREAN "BULGOGI" BEEF
1 lb. beef sirloin or flank steak
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. sesame or salad oil
2 tsp. sesame seeds
1/4 c. chopped green onions
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper

Tip: For easier slicing, place beef in freezer for 30 minutes. Cut across the grain so meat will be tender.

1. Slice beef against grain into 1/4 inch slices that are 2-3 inches long.

2. In a bowl, stir together sugar, soy sauce, oil, sesame seeds, green onions, garlic and black pepper. Add the meat until all the slices are coated.

3. Cover and marinate 1-2 hours at room temperature or 4 or more in a refrigerator.

4. Place strips 1 inch apart on racks, then broil barbeque 1 minute on each side. Serve immediately garnished with green pepper slices (optional). Preparation: 15 minutes. Broiling: 2 minutes. Marinating: 1-4 hours. Preheated broiler or grill.

This is great - my husband made it and I had never heard of it, but it is now a favorite. Must use sesame oil for a great flavor
