LOOK OUT MOUNTAIN BREAD 
2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. Crisco
1 yeast cake
1/2 c. warm water
6 c. flour

Pour 2 cups scalded milk over 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 cup Crisco. Let cool and add 1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water with a dash of salt. Add about 6 cups flour. Beat vigorously, work well (300 strokes). Allow to rise. Divide in half to work again (40 strokes). Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees in grease bread pans. Makes two loaves.
