1 lg. onion, sliced thinly
1/2 c. butter
1 lg. can whole tomatoes
1 1/2 qt. water
1/2 c. barley
3 beef bouillon cubes
1 meaty soup bone
Optional 1 pkg. soup meat or stew meat

Combine above and simmer approximately 2 hours.
