1/2 c. butter
1 c. shortening
1 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream all ingredients together with mixer, heat oven to 350 degrees and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will be light in color. Frost with butter frosting.
