APPLE CRISP 
10 baking apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 c. granulated sugar

Set the oven at 375 degrees. In a deep 9-inch pie or baking dish, layer the apples, lemon juice and sugar. Set them aside.

TOPPING:

2/3 c. flour
3/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. butter at room temperature

In a bowl combine the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, oatmeal, cinnamon and butter. Work these with a fork or fingertips until mixed. Sprinkle topping all over apples. Bake for 45 minutes or until crisp is brown and bubbling at edges. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Serves 6.
