HUSHPUPPIES 
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 egg, beaten
1/4-1/2 c. chopped onions
1 tsp. sugar
Milk (enough for desired consistency)

Mix all ingredients together and drop by teaspoon into hot oil, frying until golden brown. Always pierce with fork or toothpick to make sure they are done in the middle. If not, return to oil until center is done.
