1 lb. white cornmeal
1 tbsp. salt
Pinch soda
1 egg
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. buttermilk

Stir to thick consistency. Divide off crescent shaped portions with edge of large spoon; drop into hot Wesson oil, 375 degrees. Turn, cook until brown. Serve hot, with fish, crab or shrimp. Or, just EAT!
