1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. meal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1 onion, chopped
3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Mix all ingredients together, adding enough sweet milk to moisten. Drop by teaspoon into deep fat, frying until golden brown.
