NICOLE'S FAVORITE COOKIE MONSTER
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (divided into 2 parts 8 oz. and 4 oz.)
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream 1/2 cups butter. Beat in until light and smooth 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar. Stir in 1 large egg, slightly beaten, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons vanilla and 8 ounces chocolate chips.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheets. Before baking chill slightly in refrigerator, then roll into a ball in the palms of your hands. The ball should be large enough that it takes two hands crossed over each other to cover the ball. Bake for 15 minutes. Put on rack. While cookies are hot put extra chocolate chips on the cookies. When they get shiney spread it over the tops of the cookies, then chill. It will become a hard chocolate candy on the top of each cookie.
