BANANA NUT BREAD 
3 ripe bananas
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. nut meats, chopped fine
1/2 tsp. salt

Crush and whip bananas until very light. Set aside. In mixer cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time blending completely. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add chopped nuts. Add alternately whipped bananas and flour to creamed mixture. Bake in greased loaf pan, 9x5x3 at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool completely in pan. Makes 1 one pound loaf.
