1 loaf white or wheat bread 2 c. water 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. sliced or crushed peanuts 1/2 lb. Monterey Jack cheese 1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches 2 oranges, peeled and separated Powdered cinnamon Toast sliced bread in oven until brown. Heat water and brown sugar to a boiling until a syrup consistency. In a loaf-type baking pan, butter it lightly, add in layers: bread, cheese, oranges, peach, raisins, peanuts, finishing each layer with syrup. Top with leftover syrup and sprinkle of cinnamon. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. |
