MICROWAVE PEANUT PATTIES | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. White corn syrup 1 1/2 c. raw peanuts 1/8 tsp. salt 6 drops of red food coloring 2 tbsp. butter Prepare 2 pans. I use the disposable metal pie tins. Spray with cooking spray and wipe until none is visible or candy will be sticky. Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, peanuts, salt and food coloring in microwavable bowl. Microwave for 9 minutes, stir and microwave another 9 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter until candy looks creamy and coats the sides of the bowl a little. Pour into prepared pans. Let set until firm. IMPORTANT NOTE. This recipe is based on a 600 watt microwave. It is important to adjust your time. I use an 1100 watt oven but cook at 50% power. Submitted by: Mary Miller |
