BROWNIES 
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 lg. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add vanilla, then dry ingredients and nuts. Bake at 325°F in a 12x9-inch pan, approximately 30 minutes. Test with a toothpick. Don't overbake. May frost but are delicious plain!
