EILEEN'S OVEN BAKED BEEF RIBS | |
4 lb. beef spareribs, cut in half RIB SAUCE: 1/2 cup brewed instant or regular coffee 1/2 cup ketchup (Hunts) 1/4 cup sugar 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. white vinegar 2 tbsp. grated onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 clove minced garlic Preheat oven to 500°F (or as high as you oven allows). Cover shallow baking with foil. Place ribs curved side down on pan. Bake ribs at 500°F for 10 minutes. Turn down oven heat to 325°F and bake for 1 1/2 hours. While ribs are baking, prepare sauce. Place sauce ingredients in small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring now and then. Simmer another 10 minutes. After ribs baked 1 1/2 hours, remove from oven and baste with sauce. Return to oven baking 30 minutes longer and baste often. Remove from oven, turn ribs over, baste and bake for another 30 minutes. Serve hot with any remaining sauce. Submitted by: Eileen |
