NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST 
3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
6 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. white vinegar

Sift together flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat egg. Add water and vinegar. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture very gently, only until moistened. Roll to fit pie plates, on a floured surface. Makes 2 (2 crust) pies. Very flaky and tender.
