BAKED BEANS | |
1 lb. bag baby lima beans 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. baking molasses Salt & pepper to taste 1 tbsp. prepared mustard 1 can tomato soup 1/2 can water 1/2 lb. diced bacon Cover beans with water and let stand overnight. Drain and sort, put in a large pot, cover with water, add 2 tablespoons baking soda. Bring to boil. Boil 5 minutes. Drain and sort. Put back in pot, cover with water, add 2 tablespoons salt. Cook 15 to 20 minutes. Drain. Put in baking pan. Add sugar, molasses, salt and pepper, mustard, soup and water and bacon. Mix. Bake at 275 degrees until done, about 3 hours. Stir occasionally. |
