DATE CREAM FILLING FOR FUDGE
CAKE
 
1 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat milk and dates in top of double boiler. Combine sugar and flour. Add beaten egg. Blend until smooth, then add slowly to hot milk. Cook, stirring until thick. Cool. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread between layers of cake. Frost with chocolate or 7-minute icing.
