HALF RECIPE: 2 c. sugar 1 c. milk 1/4 c. cocoa 1/8 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/4 c. peanut butter or more REGULAR RECIPE: 4 c. sugar 2 c. milk 1/2 c. cocoa 1/4 c. butter 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. peanut butter or more Mix cocoa and sugar. Add milk. Cook on high heat until it starts to boil (watch). Turn to medium and cook until it forms a rather firm ball, not hard, when tested in cold water. Can be stirred occasionally. Remove from stove. Add butter and vanilla. DO NOT STIR. Allot cool to room temperature. Beat until it begins to lose its shine. Add nuts and peanut butter. When it begins to thicken and loses it shine, pour in buttered dish and cut in squares. This fills long Pyrex dish, if you double. |
