STRAWBERRY-FIG PRESERVES 
3 c. mashed ripe figs
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. strawberry Jello
3 c. sugar

Sterilize jars. Wash, peel and mash figs. Place fig, Jello and sugar in large pan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and continue to boil for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often. Pour hot preserves into hot jars leaving 1/4" headspace. Wipe jar rims clean and adjust lids. Process 5 minutes in a boiling water bath or store in refrigerator.
