Basic Dough for Chinese
Dumplings
 
This versatile dough is the foundation for a variety of delicious Asian-style dumplings. With just a few simple ingredients and some kneading, you'll have an authentic base ready to be filled with your favorite fillings.

1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
z cup plus 1 tablespoon warm water

In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour and salt.

Gradually pour in the warm water while stirring with a wooden spoon. Stir until a rough dough begins to form.

Knead dough on a clean work surface for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth.

Wrap in plastic wrap and rest at room temperature for 30-40 minutes. Use to wrap your fafite filling in the desired form of dumpling and cook according to recipe directions.
