BASIC ROLL DOUGH | |
2 c. warm water 2 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter 6 c. flour (I use 3 c. white and 3 c. whole wheat) Water should be lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in water in mixing bowl. Add sugar, butter, egg, and salt. Add about 3 cups of flour and beat until the mixture sheets. Add remaining flour. At this point, the mixture can be kneaded and left to rise or refrigerated immediately. Dough should be used within 3 days. This dough can be used for cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls or holiday breads. |
