WALNUT COOKIE BALLS 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. honey
1 egg, separated
1 navel orange
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. finely chopped walnuts
Green & red candied cherries, halved

In large bowl, beat butter and honey. Beat in egg yolk. Grate orange rind and add to the batter. Squeeze 2 tablespoons of orange juice and add to batter. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add flour mixture to the batter, 1/2 cup at a time and blend. Cover bowl; refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In bowl beat egg white until foamy. Spread walnuts on a plate. Shape dough into 36 balls. Dip balls into the egg white, then roll into nuts. Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Press cherry on each cookie. Bake for 15 minutes.
