ITALIAN SPONGE COOKIES 
6 eggs
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 c. cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Vanilla or anise flavoring

Cream butter, adding eggs, 1 at a time, beating well each time. Add sugar, flour, baking powder. Put in refrigerator to chill for 1 hour. Take size of dough as desired and roll in powdered sugar. Put cookies on cookie sheet and chill again for 2 hours. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
