RAISIN SHEET COOKIES 
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. water
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. nutmeats

Bring 1 cup raisins and 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan. Cool and drain through a strainer, reserving 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon of liquid. Cream together butter and sugar. Add the beaten egg. Sift together the flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Set aside. Combine the 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon of raisin liquid with the baking soda. Alternately add the raisin liquid and the flour mixture to the creamed mixture. With the last of the flour mixture, add the raisins and nuts. Spread into a greased and floured, 10 x 15-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
