2/3 c. butter flavored Crisco or butter, not regular Crisco 3/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. plus milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt Cream Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed, until blended. Beat in egg. Combine dry ingredients and mix into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll 1/2 the dough at a time to about 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface. Cut in desired shapes. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove to cooling rack. Yield about 3 dozen. |
