LEMON BREAD 
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
Juice from 1/2 lemon or 3-4 tbsp. Real lemon

Cream shortening and sugar. Add well-beaten eggs. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder and add to mixture. Put juice and milk in last.

Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and while hot pour over top the juice from one lemon and 1/4 cup sugar mixed.
