MRS. W.'S LADY BALTIMORE CAKE | |
1/4 lb. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 c. flour 5 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk, mixed with 1 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat vigorously. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with liquids. Blend and beat for a few seconds. The batter should resemble whipped cream. Bake in greased paper lined layer pans at 350 degrees until brown and it leaves the sides of the pans (about 45 minutes). FILLING: 2 whole oranges 1 whole lemon 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. nuts, broken 2/3 c. sugar Pinch of salt 2 egg yolks |
