APPLE BAVARIAN TORTE 
CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter

CHEESE FILLING:

16 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, room temperature

APPLE TOPPING:

2 lg. tart apples, thinly sliced
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. chopped walnuts

Cut crust ingredients until coarse corn meal. Press onto sides and bottom of 10 inch springform. Bake 5 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden. Beat cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Beat eggs in one at a time. Spoon into cooled crust. Mix apple topping (except nuts) and spread on top. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 15 minutes 450 degrees, then 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until center tester comes clean.

I usually have to bake crust 15 or 20 minutes before it is golden.
