CREAMY RICE PUDDING | |
4 1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. raw white rice, washed 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 sm. can evaporated milk Combine all ingredients. Pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hours or until rice is tender. Stir frequently, allow to cool. It will be soupy, but will thicken as it cools. For Variation: Add 1/2 cup seedless raisins about 1 hour after cooking begins. |
