OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL BREAD | |
2 c. water, boiling 1 c. rolled oats 1/3 c. butter 1/2 c. light molasses 4 tsp. salt 2 pkgs. yeast 2 eggs 5 1/2 c. flour Combine first 5 ingredients. Cool to lukewarm, then add yeast. Mix. Blend in eggs and flour. Place in a covered, greased bowl in refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Remove dough from refrigerator and knead about 5 times. Shape into 2 loaves and place in greased pans. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk (about 2 hours). Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. |
