TWO DAY CUCUMBER PICKLES 12

10 lbs. cucumbers
3 c. lime
3 c. salt
3 oz. Alum
18 c. sugar
9 c. vinegar
1/3 box pickling spices

Cover cucumbers with water, add lime. Soak 12 to 14 hours; drain. Cover with water. Add salt. Soak 4 hours. Drain. Cover with water and soak 2 hours; drain. Cover with water and add alum. Bring to boil. Drain. Dip in clear, boiling water. Drain. Add to syrup and simmer for 30 minutes. To make syrup, mix sugar, vinegar and spices. Pack in sterilized jars.
