MANDARIN ORANGE TOSS 
SALAD:

1/3 c. toasted almonds
1/2 head lettuce
1 sm. bunch Romaine or red leaf lettuce
2 med. stalks celery, thinly sliced (1 c.)
2 green onions with tops, sliced (2 tbsp.)
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

SWEET-SOUR DRESSING:

1/3 c. vegetable oil
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 tbsp. snipped parsley or mint leaves
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
Dash of red pepper sauce (Tabasco)

Shake all dressing ingredients in covered jar; refrigerate.

Place torn lettuce and Romaine in plastic bag; add onions and celery. Pour dressing into bag and add orange segments. Close bag tightly and shake well. Top salad servings with almonds or add to toss. Fresh sliced strawberries are a good addition.
