NO WEEP MERINGUE 
1/2 c. cold water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. sugar
3 egg whites
5 tbsp. sugar

Combine cornstarch, sugar and water. Cook until mixture thickens. Set aside to cool. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar gradually. Continue beating until very stiff. Add the cooked mixture, which must be cold beating well. Add a few drops of vanilla. Pile on pie and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Open oven door, let pie remain in oven a few minutes longer before removing to cool. This helps prevent the meringue from falling. This works great, very pretty.
