3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. softened butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Add egg, cream and vanilla. Blend thoroughly and chill. Roll on floured board and cut out with cookie cutters. bake 5 to 8 minutes at 400 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet. Very light brown when done.
