1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to shortening mixture alternately with sour cream. Chill thoroughly. Roll out 1/4-inch thick. Cut with large cutter. Sprinkle with sugar and press lightly or frost when cool. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes on greased cookie sheet. Makes 100 (2 1/2-inch) cookies.
