PAPER BAG APPLE PIE 
4-5 lg. apples
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 unbaked pie shell

Place sliced and peeled apples in large bowl. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons flour, and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples. Toss to coat well and put into pastry shell.

Drizzle apple mixture with 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour (for topping) in bowl. Cut in butter and sprinkle over apples evenly. Slide pie into heavy brown bag. Fold bag end and fasten with paper clips or staples. Bake at 425 degrees for 1 hour. Split bag open and remove and cool. Very good and all mess is in paper bag.
