3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. vinegar
Vanilla or any flavoring desired 1 tsp.
1 1/2 c. cold water
Butter, size of walnut

Boil until it hardens in cold water.

Add flavoring and pour on buttered trays. Let partly cool, butter fingers and pull from tray.
