RUSSIAN TEA CAKES | |
1 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. walnuts, finely chopped Confectioners' sugar Mix the butter with the sugar and vanilla. Sift the flour with the salt and add to the sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly. Add the chopped walnuts. Chill the dough. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll the chilled dough into 1" balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. (These cookies do not spread.) Bake until set, but not brown, about 10 minutes. While still warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Allow the cookies to cool and roll in confectioners' sugar a second time. Yield: 2 to 3 dozen. |
