CREAM OF CABBAGE SOUP 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
8 c. whole milk

Melt butter in microwave, mix in flour. Stir milk in little at a time. Microwave until thick, stirring every 3 minutes. Set aside. 2 c. ham or fried bacon 3 raw carrots, sliced

Place vegetables, ham and carrots in kettle. Add enough water to cover about 2/3 of the cabbage. Bring to a boil and add 3 teaspoons of chicken flavor soup base, then boil until cabbage and carrots are done. Pour the milk mixture in and stir all together. If desired, add about 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese and heat until melted.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
