EGGLESS CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. cold water
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. lard
1/2 tsp. salt
About 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Let all come to boil. Boil hard for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. When cooled, add:

1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Enough flour to make a good batter quite stiff

Lastly, add 1 cup nuts, chopped. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees about 30 minutes or until done when tested with a toothpick.
