COCONUT APPLE BETTY 
4 c. thinly sliced pared tart apples (4 lg.)
1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
Dash of salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. butter

Arrange 2 cups of the apples on bottom of greased baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the bread crumbs and 1/3 cup of the coconut. Combine brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon and sprinkle half of mixture over the coconut.

Dot with 2 tablespoons of the butter. Repeat, sprinkling remaining 1/3 cup of coconut over top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until apples are soft. Serve with cream if desired.
