EASY CHEESE BREADSTICKS
1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese (3 oz.)
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2/3 c. water + 1 tbsp.
1/4 c. salad oil
1 egg
1 tbsp. sesame seeds

Early in the day or the day before: In a large bowl combine 1 cup flour, cheese, sugar, salt and yeast. In a small pan heat 2/3 cup water with oil until lukewarm. With electric mixer at medium speed gradually add liquid to flour mixture and beat 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of bowl occasionally. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. Beat 2 more minutes at medium speed; stopping frequently to clean beaters.

Place dough on lightly floured surface; knead until elastic, about 5 minutes. Place dough in greased bowl; cover with waxed paper; then let rise in warm place (80 to 85 degrees) for 1 hour or until doubled. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Punch down dough. Divide into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a stick about 14 inches long. Place on greased cookie sheet. Beat egg with 1 tablespoon water; brush on sticks; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool on rack. Makes 12 bread sticks.
