LADY BIRD'S PECAN PIE 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. pecan halves
unbaked pie shell

Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, combine the butter and sugar. Gradually add corn syrup, salt and vanilla. Blend thoroughly. Add eggs and gently beat. Fold in pecans. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Place the pecan halves on top of pie for decoration.

Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until set in middle.
